HPE OS Boot Devices provides separate, redundant disk solutions for the OS that enables a more robust, optimized compute platform. If one drive fails, all data will be lost. OC3D Forums > Hardware & Software > Storage Mediums: AMD RAID with an NVMe Boot Drive? To check the actual NVMe driver installed in your system follow these steps: Open Device Manager. To have the NVMe drives managed by RAIDXpert, there is a setting somewhere in UEFI to enable NVMe RAID(it isn't enabled by default).Once in the RaidXpert2 management, go to array management > delete array. to keep from taking up space on my boot drive, I’m looking to move them to external storage and the an NVMe SSD seems to be the smart route.Go to Advanced > RaidXpert2 Configuration Utility (in some cases you may need to F10+save and reboot before it will show up as an option) Warning! Going beyond this point will delete any data on your NVMe drives. 0 x16 controller No larger than your average video adapter. If you setup RAID in RST BIOS, RST hides NVME drivers from system (due PCIE-to-SATA remap), only RST driver needed.I keep a record of the installation process for future references. The only different thing I did was I didn't install the integrated video drivers because I have a GeForce GTX 570 video card but like I said on my 1st install, the "Universal serial bus (USB) controller" got installed before I even started installing anything. I just don't get it, particularly when all the USB ports are working fine. I have tried to right click on the missing driver to search on the internet to no avail. However, all my USB ports appear to be working fine. And I always take a SNAP shot of the device manager right after a System re-installation to make sure. It showed that 4 drivers needed installed but this time, I had 5 uninstalled drivers which included the "Universal serial bus (USB) controller". The odd thing, according to my records of the 1st installation, there was no mention of "Universal serial bus (USB) controller" not being installed. I even found a newer chipset driver at the dell website using my service code. ![]() Despite my first installation using the same Dell system restore disk and the same downloaded drivers (Chipset and all available drivers), it DID NOT leave the "Universal serial bus (USB) controller" uninstalled. For some reason, this 2nd installation of Windows 7 pro left the "Universal serial bus (USB) controller" uninstalled in the device manager. I just did a complete Windows 7 pro Dell restore on my 990. ![]()
